NEMT first Steps?

To start an NEMT business in Virginia:

You will need to register your business with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC).

Obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS .

Apply for operating authority through the Virginia DMV, submitting required forms and fees .

Secure the necessary insurance coverage as outlined by the state liability requirements and,

Enroll with the Department of Medical Assistance Services or its contracted brokers to provide services to Medicaid recipients.
